Müller making his case
In case Joachim Loew was not looking, young Thomas Müller is making it almost impossible for the national trainer to leave him out of the World Cup.
Müller has had an absolutely phenomenal season. The 20 year old has played 49 times (43 from the start) this season and rewarded Louis van Gaal’s faith in him with 19 goals and 14 assists. That is 33 scorer points in his first season as a professional.
He is versatile, having played in a front two, a front three, on the wings and even in a midfield three.
Plus he has an eye for goal.
The one thing Müller has struggled with is to score against the absolute top opposition. But he is young and not really prodigiously talented. He has to develop his skills a fair bit yet to be considered amongst the top young players in the world.
However, barring Loew’s stubborn attitude, this youngster should be a shoe-in for the World Cup squad.
